An Open-label Study Comparing Lutetium (177Lu) Vipivotide Tetraxetan Versus Observation in PSMA Positive OMPC.

RECRUITINGPHASE3Novartis Pharmaceuticals

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of lutetium (177Lu) vipivotide tetraxetan (AAA617) in participants with oligometastatic prostate cancer (OMPC) progressing after definitive therapy to their primary tumor. The data generated from this study will provide evidence for the treatment of AAA617 in early-stage prostate cancer patients to control recurrent tumor from progressing to fatal metastatic disease while preserving quality of life by delaying treatment with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT).

AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance Registry (AIDA)

RECRUITINGNot SpecifiedUniversity of Siena

Autoinflammatory diseases (AID) are clinical entities characterized by recurrent inflammatory attacks in absence of infection, neoplasm or deregulation of the adaptive immune system. Among them, hereditary periodic syndromes, also known as monogenic AID, represent the prototype of this disease group, caused by mutations in genes involved in the regulation of innate immunity, inflammation and cell death. Based on recent experimental acquisitions in the field of monogenic AID, several immunologic disorders have been reclassified as polygenic/multifactorial AID, sharing pathogenetic and clinical features with hereditary periodic fevers. This has paved the way to new treatment targets for patients suffering from rare diseases of unknown origin, including Behçet's disease, Still disease, Schnitzler's disease, PFAPA (periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis and cervical adenitis) syndrome, chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO), non-infectious uveitis and scleritis. Gathering information on such rare conditions is made difficult by the small number of patients, along with the difficulty of obtaining an accurate diagnosis in non-specialized clinical settings. In this context, the AIDA project promotes international collaboration among clinical centres to develop a permanent registry aimed at collecting demographic, genetic, clinical and therapeutic data of patients affected by monogenic and polygenic AID, in order to expand the current knowledge of these rare conditions.

The Effect of Music Therapy on Vital Signs and Heart Rate Variability of Pediatric Patients During the Extubation Process.

RECRUITINGNAClaudia Aristizábal

The extubation process is critical to the future health outcomes of the pediatric patient because it tests the ability of the respiratory system to function without the support of mechanical ventilation. However, extubation can cause stress, pain, anxiety, or discomfort in the patients, which results in an increased likelihood of reintubation. Music therapy has been shown to be effective in reducing anxiety and stress levels in ventilated adult patients, but studies evaluating the effect of music therapy on vital signs in pediatric patients during extubation are lacking. The aim is to determine the effect of music therapy on vital signs and heart rate variability of pediatric patients during extubation in in two high-complexity health care institutions in Colombia. This study is a Randomized clinical trial (RCT) with two parallel arms. The intervention group (IG) will receive standard care during the extubation process + music therapy and the control group (CG) will receive standard care only. The primary outcome measure is heart rate (HR) measured every minute for 5 minutes before extubation, during extubation, and up to 10 minutes after extubation. Secondary measures are: oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, blood pressure, duration of the procedure, number of reintubations, and heart rate variability.

Validation of Artificial Intelligence-based Digital Anthropometry Applications for Estimating Body Composition.

RECRUITINGNot SpecifiedDynamical Business and Science Society - DBSS International SAS

Anthropometric measurements are commonly employed to evaluate body composition, morphology, and health-related parameters across diverse populations. While a cost-effective and field-friendly method, the COVID-19 pandemic has spurred research on digital anthropometry worldwide. Machine learning, a fusion of artificial intelligence and data mining, holds promise for enhancing data collection and analysis in Kinanthropometry applications. Rather than replacing traditional methods, digital anthropometry presents a significant opportunity to enhance accuracy, validity, practicality, and the implementation of self-monitoring procedures under professional guidance. The CyberMetron Project by DBSS aims to perform additional research and increase scientific literacy among practitioners for public awareness of digital anthropometry.

Target ALS Biomarker Study; Longitudinal Biofluids, Clinical Measures, and At Home Measures

RECRUITINGNot SpecifiedTarget ALS Foundation, Inc.

The goal of the study is to generate a biorepository of longitudinal biofluids-blood (plasma and serum), cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) and urine linked to genetics and longitudinal clinical information that are made available to the research community. To accomplish these goals, we will enroll 800 Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patients and 200 healthy controls from sites globally, over a 5 year time frame. Additionally, speech and motor function and spirometry measures will be collected bi-weekly in a subset of participants. ALS participants will be asked to come to the clinic for 5 study visits approximately every 4 months. Healthy participants will be coming for 2 study visits with a 12-month interval between visits. These samples and clinical information will be stored in a de-identified manner and made available for investigators to use in future research studies.
