Digital Interventions to Increase HPV Vaccination Intentions Among Nigerian Caregivers

RECRUITINGNAUniversity of Pennsylvania

This study evaluates whether different types of digital health communication can increase parents' intention to vaccinate their daughters against human papillomavirus (HPV) in Nigeria. HPV vaccination is recommended for girls aged 9-14 years and helps prevent cervical cancer, yet vaccination rates remain low. Parents of eligible, unvaccinated girls will be randomly assigned to receive one of several types of digital content delivered online. These include: (1) a short chatbot conversation based on motivational interviewing principles, (2) an interactive game designed to help parents recognize and resist common forms of vaccine misinformation, (3) a set of short edutainment videos about HPV vaccination, (4) standard informational infographics about HPV vaccination from a national public health agency, or (5) unrelated health content about menstruation. The main outcome is parents' self-reported intention to vaccinate their daughter against HPV, measured immediately and one week after exposure to the assigned content. Additional outcomes include HPV-related knowledge, perceptions of vaccine safety, willingness to recommend the vaccine to others, and self-reported vaccine uptake at 1-week and 6 month follow-up. The results will help inform scalable communication strategies to improve HPV vaccination uptake in low- and middle-income settings.

The CCANED-CIPHER Study: Early Cancer Detection and Treatment Response Monitoring Using AI-Based Platelet and Immune Cell Transcriptomic Profiling

RECRUITINGNot SpecifiedJavier Toledo

The purpose of the CCANED-CIPHER study is to develop and validate an AI-based blood test for early cancer detection and to monitor treatment effectiveness in cancer patients. This two-phase, multi-center observational study aims to identify specific transcriptomic biomarkers in platelets and immune cells that distinguish cancer patients from healthy individuals and correlate with treatment outcomes. By analysing blood samples using artificial intelligence, the study seeks to create a safe, non-invasive method to enhance cancer diagnosis and monitor treatment responses over time.

MicroRNA Profiles in Triple Negative Breast Cancer

RECRUITINGPHASE2University College Hospital, Ibadan

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive disease with higher proportion of Blacks affected and in younger age groups. There is no targeted therapy unlike other types of breast cancer such as hormone positive and Human Epidermal Growth factor 2 (HER2) positive subtypes. Chemotherapy is therefore the main choice of systemic treatment with rapid development of resistance in most cases. At present, there is no blood test to monitor treatment response and disease relapse. This one-stage phase II study with a single arm design will determine the response rate of standard chemotherapy using Epirubicin (60mg/m2), Cyclophosphamide (600mg/m2) , Paclitaxel (120mg/m2) and Carboplatin (6AUC) in TNBC patients. We will measure the blood level of microRNA molecules and circulating tumor DNA during and after treatment to test if changes can be used to indicate drug failure in these patients. Disease status and tumor response will be assessed using Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) guidelines while toxicity will be assessed using CTCAE v5). The trial will be conducted as per the International Council on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP) Guidelines E6 (R1) and other applicable guidelines

This study is looking into how safe treatment with etavopivat is and how well it works over a long period of time. The study will last for up to 264 weeks, but it will end earlier if etavopivat is approved in the participant's country.
